Event
Texhoma Trials Club Event
2nd annual ScotTISH Trials Event!
Where: Rock Creek Riding area – Tishomingo, Oklahoma
When: Sat., Nov. 10 – rider’s mtg. at 9:30
a.m. (all classes)
Who: All classes will be accommodated this year
Entry fee: $20 for TXTC members, $25 for non-members
Trialsmaster:
Clark Pittman 214-616-2206
What is it: It’s nah a bloody race this year. It’s a chance
to wear your Black Watch, or McLane tartan
proudly brother! It’s a Tommi Ahvala / Tony Wedgeworth / European-style
GATE trial that you will LOVE. So, get off yer duff, strap on your sporran,
tuck away a flask of The Glenlivet and ride; there’s a lovely nip
in the air, aye! Like many of you, I dislike traditional gate trials because
the punishment for a failed gate is too harsh. So you end up riding “down
a class” and you pass on fun gates because if you dab, you’re
done. Well, not so with this event. These new rules reward a “damn
the torpedoes” riding style, so let your hair down and grab a handful.
Remember, high score wins! Are we not men?! (William Wallace – Braveheart)
In this event, each section will have boundary tape and at least six gates
of varying levels of difficulty. Each section will have at least two 5-point,
two 10-point, and two 15-point gates. Ride none of them, all of them,
or any combination (you can’t repeat a gate and you can’t
cross your tracks). Just by riding into the section you get a 30-point
bonus! Brilliant! So, ride in and out… you’ve just scored
30 points! 30 points! Brilliant! Clean as many gates as you like and you
KEEP those points forever! Even if you put a foot down, you can NEVER
lose ANY of your gate points! (a clean gate is back axle through the gate).
What happens if you dab? Each dab deducts 10 points from your initial
30-point ride-in bonus – that’s it. What happens if you “five”
a section? Easy, you only lose your initial 30-point bonus and you can’t
attempt any more gates in that section, but you keep any gate points accumulated
up to that point for that section. Format: Eight sections, three loops
– All classes will ride in the morning!
The ScotTISH is Saturday, and the 4th Annual Tish Turkey Trial will be
the next day, Sunday. The Tish
Turkey Trial is a regular trial in the traditional format. So come Saturday
morning, try something new and fun, spend the night and ride a classic
trial the next day. What could be better? Don’t miss it, ya pansy!
NOTE: If you wear a kilt, you must go commando, and no bagpipes in the
sections!
