Kelly Anne Batchelor
Garza was born August 29, 1978 in Dallas, Texas and was taken home to
our Father in Heaven early on Ash Wednesday morning on February 9, 2005
in Houston, Texas at the age of 26.
Kelly is survived by her loving husband, R. David Garza; caring parents,
Tom and Vicky Batchelor; proud sisters, Amy Marie Duggins and Holly
Beth Batchelor; precious nephew, Calvin Ty Duggins; paternal grandparents,
Faye Renelle Hoehn and Paul N. Hoehn; and numerous other relatives and
friends.
Those who knew Kelly know that she was a fighter. After battling Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma and two reoccurrences of the cancer, Kelly, a former Midlothian
graduate of 1996, went on to graduate from U.T.A. with her BSN, RN in
2002 and married the man of her dreams, David Garza, last November.
Kelly will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her family,
friends, and those she touched daily as a Registered Nurse working in
the I.C.U. at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Thursday,
February 10, 2005 at Earthman
Bellaire Chapel, 6700 Ferris, Bellaire, Texas 77401 with a Rosary
to be recited at 7:00 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m.
Friday, February 11, 2005 at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, 1111 Pierce
St., Houston, Texas 77002. Rev. R. Troy Gately will celebrate the mass.
Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Westheimer, 12800 Westheimer,
Houston, Texas 77077.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12,
2005 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 301 287 Bypass in Waxahachie,
Texas.
