WARNING! Be fully prepared and stocked for the long weekend!
You will be 40 miles from medical facilities and sources of re supply!
Camping will be primitive. Water is available at the ranch but may
not be available at the parking and camping area by the event date.
Stay on the trails and supervise your kids! Real-world danger alert!
Cacti, and several poisonous snakes and spiders native to Oklahoma are
in the area!
TERRAIN
Wichita-Glenn Mountains region. Native prairie grass & mesquite savanna
with exposed black gabbro rocks in the creek and pastures and gravel pit.
Miles of 8-foot-wide mowed trails. Property is 234 acres joined
across a dirt road at the corners.

DIRECTIONS
~35 Miles from Lawton, Hobart and Altus, Oklahoma, one mile west of the
west border of the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge
From I-44 at northeast Lawton take Rogers Lane US 62 Bypass toward Cache
& Altus. Go 6+ miles west across north Lawton, merging onto US 62.
Continue west an additional ~20 miles to Oklahoma (OK) 54 (goes only north
toward Gotebo). Go 11.3 miles north on OK 54 to a gravel road at
top of small rise. Note small green sign CEMETERY before you turn off
OK 54, hills on the left, and some exposed pasture rocks. Go right
or east on this gravel road 2 miles (you will be facing the Wichita Mountains),
passing Springhill Cemetery on right at 1/3rd mile. At 2 miles from
OK 54 go right or south at + intersection 1/3rd mile to creek area where
the Johnson ranch buildings are on the right (trees, green gates, grey
buildings). Trials camping and parking is in a new area ~3/4 mile
further south then left continuing on the same road.
