Ramon's Update From the NATC Meeting

As I just returned from the annual NATC meeting, here is a quick summary.  I am proud to announce that our own Gary Jackson will be inducted into the NATC Hall of Fame.  His hard work and contribution to trials will be recognized, and posted on the NATC website ASAP.  As this happens, I will keep y'all posted. Other inductees are Bernie Schreiber, Bill Brokaw, and Len Weed.

2005 NATC/AMA Event Schedule:

Rounds 1-2  Apr 9-10  Muenster, TX
Rounds 3-4  Apr 16-17  Sequatchie, TN
Rounds 5-6  May 14-15  Canon City, CO
Rounds 7-8  May 21-22  Aguanga, CA
Rounds 9-10  Jul 30-31  Highgate, VT
Rounds 11-12  Aug 6-7  Alma, NY

7 out of 10 rounds count for Sportsman, and 10 out of 12 rounds count for Pros.
The rider entry will remain the same.  There will be a total of 12 sections for all riders, which will help cut down on time and judges.  Pro only sections can still be used, but must be adjacent to an existing section.  Example 10a-10b.  This will be up to the trialsmaster.  Speeding in the pits will be penalized with points, as this has become a dangerous problem.  Signs will be posted, and the riders will be warned.  There are no significant rule changes for 2005, though alcohol on the trials site is strongly dissuaded insurance issues are endless.

The Youth Nationals will now be sponsored by the International Trials School of California.  Bill Markham will run the series as RYP turns it over to ITS.  An email to Dirt Rider Magazine and Cycle News, thanking them for all the coverage is recommended.  As more info comes, I will keep y'all posted. Get ready for a great Texas National Series trials coming in April.  We need help on this and you can contact Ray, Ramon, or Bob for any comments.
